Ian Poulter, Paul Casey, Sergio Garcia and Henrik Stenson have all pulled out of the BMW PGA Championship next month.
Poulter announced that he would not compete in the European Tour's flagship event on Wednesday, citing his previous poor performances at Wentworth as the reason for the withdrawal.
Casey, Garcia and Stenson added their names to the list of absentees on Thursday.
"I've played 13 PGAs at Wentworth and had 1 Top 10," Poulter tweeted. "I've had 8 MC (missed cuts). Would Usain Bolt compete in a marathon? I didn't think so ... Enough said."
World number one Rory McIlroy will play in the event, as well as world number nine Justin Rose and US Ryder Cup player Patrick Reed.
