Justin Rose has returned to winning ways on the PGA Tour with a three-shot victory at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am.

Despite quietly finding some form either side of the turn of the year, Rose has been without success on the PGA Tour since January 2019.

However, the former world number one has ended that wait with an impressive win in California, never letting slip his advantage when played resumed early on Monday.

The 42-year-old led by two shots and he used his greater experience and know-how to retain his spot at the top of the leaderboard with three birdies and, more importantly, no dropped shots from the 10th to 17th hole.

With a three-shot cushion in the bank, Rose did not need to risk using a driver on the final Par Five, instead smartly using two irons to set himself up with an 139-yard approach shot into the green.

That play proved ideal, Rose being left with a birdie putt from just inside of 40 feet, and the former US Open champion successfully made par to complete what was essentially a comfortable conversion from leader to victor.

As well as making significant progress up the World Golf Rankings from 71st position, Rose also shoots up the Ryder Cup listings as he bids to earn another appearance in the European team.

The American pair of Brendon Todd and Brandon Wu earned a share of second spot, with compatriots Denny McCarthy, Kevin Mitchell and Peter Malnati tied for fourth.

World number 11 Viktor Hovland ended the tournament in 13th place, while Ireland's Seamus Power continued his recent outstanding form to claim a share of 15th position.
