Lee Westwood has revealed that he is hoping for success in the Shell Houston Open this week ahead of the Masters.
Despite a number of the world's elite choosing to skip the final event before Augusta, Westwood believes that a good week in Houston will ensure that he heads to the year's first major in good shape.
The world number three said: "I like to be competitive the week before the Masters.
"It's a tough test at Augusta. If you don't go into it competitively sharp, you are not going to hit all the greens, going to have to get up and down.
"It just seems like it's more important for the Masters to keep the momentum going."
Westwood has yet to win a major tournament in his career.
