Tiger Woods says that he is "playing well and heading in the right direction".

Tiger Woods has said that his body feels "explosive" again after struggling with injuries over the past year.

The former world number one won his first tournament since the 2009 Australian Open when he emerged victorious from the Chevron World Challenge in December.

Woods, 36, had slipped to number 58 in the world after his two-year drought.

However, the 14-time Major winner has now climbed back up to number 18 after recovering from the niggling injuries that have plagued him of late.

"I am at peace with where I'm at," Woods told ESPN. "I have had to make some changes but I am starting to see the results of that now.

"My last four events I really played well and I need to be building on that but I am heading in the right direction. It has been huge that I have been able to train again.

"My body is feeling explosive again, I am hitting the ball further and able to do the things Sean [Foley] wants me to do with my swing."

Woods is in California this week for the AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am, where he will look to build on his tied-third place finish.
