Rory McIlroy has won the fourth major of his career after claiming victory at the US PGA Championship at Valhalla.
The 25-year-old finished one stroke ahead of Phil Mickelson, with a final round three-under 68.
He had let slip his overnight lead from the third day on the front nine, but he managed to take control after the turn to edge the win.
It is the second time that the world number one has claimed success at the US PGA, following his eight-shot win in 2012.
Rickie Fowler and Henrik Stenson both finished a shot behind Mickelson following a tense finale.
Play had to be suspended for nearly two hours at the start of the day in Kentucky because of a waterlogged course.
Victory means that McIlroy has now become the first golfer to win consecutive major championships in the same year since Padraig Harrington in 2008.
