Matt Jones has opened up a two-shot advantage at the top of the leaderboard after the second round of the US PGA Championship.
When play was brought to an abrupt halt by a storm on Friday, Jones was level with Australian compatriot Jason Day, but the world number 75 produced a strong finish to ensure that he would head the field ahead of the third round
After a birdie on the sixth, Jones repeated the trick on the eighth, this time from 50 feet, to get the better of Day, who ended his second round on nine-under-par after a bogey on the final hole.
England's Justin Rose is a shot further adrift in third spot, while world number two Jordan Spieth is lurking in a tie for seventh position, five shots off the lead.
However, Tiger Woods missed his third successive cut at a Major tournament after reaching the end of round two on four-over-par.
Woods returned to bogey the 14th after his approach had found the rough late on Friday, but he did at least end on a positive note with a birdie on the 17th before recording a par on the testing last hole.
