Matt Kuchar shot a round of 68 to top the leaderboard heading into the final round of the Shell Houston Open.
After carding a 67 on day two, the American managed to overcome windy conditions to overtake Sergio Garcia in the standings and take a four-shot lead at the end of round three.
Garcia hit three bogey's en route to a one-over-par 73, while Cameron Tringale carded a 69 to leave him tied with his fellow countryman in second place.
Matt Jones is six shots off the pace at nine-under-par, with Ben Curtis and Rickie Fowler tied on eight-under.
