Matt Kuchar has held off the challenge of Rickie Fowler to claim The Players Championship at Sawgrass.
The American carded a steady two-under 70 on his final round to finish the tournament on 13-under par, two shots ahead of his young compatriot.
It may have been a different story for Fowler, who was left to rue a missed birdie putt on the 18th after Kuchar had dropped a shot by three-putting the daunting 17th.
Fowler had clubbed an impressive birdie on the 17th to apply some pressure, but the 23-year-old, coming off his maiden Tour victory last week, pushed his five-yard putt wide.
That left the 33-year-old two strokes in front with one hole to play and he settled for a two-putt par on the final hole to clinch the title.
Scotland's Martin Laird also finished on 11-under and held the clubhouse lead, along with Zach Johnson.
