Henrik Stenson has become the first player to win both the FedEx Cup and the Race to Dubai in the same year by triumphing in the DP World Tour Championship.
The Swede won America's season-ending FedEx Cup showpiece back in September before today's victory in the European Tour's last event of the year - the DP World Tour Championship - guaranteed him first place in the cumulative Race to Dubai standings.
Stenson shot an eight-under-par final round of 64 to finish on 25-under overall at Jumeirah Golf Estates, six shots clear of his nearest competitor and Ryder Cup teammate Ian Poulter (66).
The 37-year-old almost finished in astonishing fashion when his 3-wood approach to the par-five 18th tracked towards the hole but fell a few inches short, denying him an unheard-of albatross.
Stenson's 2,379,195 points in the Race to Dubai standings saw him finish ahead of Poulter, Justin Rose, Graeme McDowell and Jamie Donaldson in the overall European Tour rankings.
