Adam Scott ended a 15-month tournament drought by winning the Australian Masters in Melbourne to claim his first gold jacket.
The Aussie went into the final day level with playing partner Ian Poulter but the Englishman could only manage a 71 as Scott carded a 67 to take a four-shot win.
Poulter, 36, bogeyed three holes on the back nine to fall away from 32-year-old Scott.
"To have it out with a world-class player and come out on top is very satisfying," said Scott.
"Probably it's the only week of the year where I've put four really solid rounds together and the result shows, so I'm really, really happy with what I was able to do this week and especially today."
Scott's last victory came at the WGC-Bridgestone Invitational in August last year.
