Adam Scott carded a round of 62 to tie the course record at Bay Hill on the first day of the Arnold Palmer Invitational.
The Australian made two eagles, seven birdies and one bogey on his way to a score of 10-under, which matches the record set by Andy Bean in 1981 and Greg Norman in 1984.
Scott's round included a number of eye-catching putts and he even managed to find the hole from off the green to the delight of the Orlando crowd.
Ryo Ishikawa and John Merrick trail the leader by three shots after day one, with Gonzalo Fernandez-Castano one stroke further back thanks to a back nine of 31.
Former Masters champion Bubba Watson was forced to withdraw from the tournament shortly after shooting 83 due to allergy problems.
