The USA record a one-point victory over the International team to win the Presidents Cup in Incheon City, South Korea.

The USA have clinched a narrow one-point victory over the International team to win the Presidents Cup.

The States came into the final day of singles with a 9.5-8.5 lead following the third day of the competition.

Patrick Reed and Louis Oosthuizen were the first players out on the course in Incheon City, and enjoyed a fierce battle, but ended up drawing their match.

Adam Scott recorded the first win of the day for the International team courtesy of a dominating 6&5 victory over Rickie Fowler, but Dustin Johnson hit back for the USA with a 2&1 win against Danny Lee.

The home side maintained the pressure on the USA with wins in the middle of the order from Hideki Matsuyama and Steven Bowditch, while Bubba Watson missed a putt to halve with Thongchai Jaidee.

Phil Mickelson and Chris Kirk got the visitors back on track with back-to-back victories to keep them narrowly ahead of the International side, but a stunning win for Marc Leishman over Jordan Spieth closed the gap.

Comfortable victories for Zach Johnson and Branden Grace left the scoreline at 14.5-14.5 going into the final match between Bill Haas and Sangmoon Bae. However, the American crept ahead in the cllsing stages to put the pressure on the South Korean.

Haas held his composure on the 18th to secure the 2UP victory to clinch the competition for the States. The USA have won the competition for the past six times in a row.
