Phil Mickelson has admitted that one of his priorities over the next couple of years will be to secure a spot in Team USA for the 2016 Olympics.
Golf is returning to the Olympics for the first time since 1904, and Mickelson claims that securing a place in Rio de Janeiro will be a big target alongside his commitments on the PGA Tour.
"I don't know why it's so important to me but it is," the five-time Major champion told reporters. "I want to be a 46-year-old Olympian.
"So 2015 and 2016 are years I want to really focus on and I want to make sure I'm ready again."
Mickelson is competing at the Barclays in New Jersey this week.
