Luke Donald and Branden Grace will head into the second round of the RBC Heritage with a share of the lead after both carded five-under-par 66s on the opening day in South Carolina.
Englishman Donald hit back-to-back birdies on the second and third holes, and despite suffering a bogey on the eighth, he managed to birdie four more holes to move to the top of the leaderboard.
Grace managed to match his rival's score as he hit five birdies and had it not been for a bogey on the 16th hole, the South African would have taken the outright lead.
Matt Kuchar and world number one Jason Day are two of four players who sit one shot off the pace after the first round at the Harbour Town Golf Links in Hilton Head.
Day was five-under-par through 15 holes, but he dropped a shot on the 18th, putting him just behind the first-round leaders.
