Hearn shot eight birdies and suffered just one bogey as he finished his round seven-under-par, while Thompson recovered from a double bogey on the 11th hole by putting an eagle on the 16th.
Hubbard also scored an eagle on the same hole to finish seven-under-par, while Aldridge joined the trio at the top of the standings with seven birdies, but he had only gone through 16 before play was suspended due to darkness.
