Miguel Angel Jimenez started the Turkish Airlines Open with an impressive round of 63 to take the lead after the first round.
The Spaniard offered the spectators a sign of things to come by finding the hole with his first approach shot of the day.
Jimenez would follow a brilliant start with seven more birdies as he mastered the greens in Antayla to climb to nine-under-par.
The 50-year-old finished the day just one shot off Ian Poulter, who was six-under on the par-fives as he continued his recent improvement with a promising start to the tournament.
Tyrrell Hatton, Wade Ormsby and Brendon de Jonge are one stroke further back on seven-under.
