Former world number one Rory McIlroy is six shots behind leader Jaco van Zyl in the Turkish Airlines Open after carding a first-round 67.
The four-time Major winner is one of seven golfers tied fourth after finishing the day five-under-par following five birdies in an unblemished round.
Van Zyl leads the way at 11-under after hitting nine birdies and an eagle on the 11th hole, while Englishman Lee Westwood is his closest challenger three shots behind.
Westwood shot eight birdies, four of which came consecutively from the 14th hole, while his Ryder Cup teammate Ian Poulter carded a three-under 69.
Chris Wood sits third in the clubhouse with a first-round 66 following five birdies and an eagle, but he dropped a shot on the 15th hole to keep him behind Westwood.
