Two-time champion Paul Lawrie has shot a second-round 66 to move into a one-shot lead at the halfway mark of the Commercial Bank Qatar Masters.
The Scot, winner in Doha in 1999 and 2012, carded seven birdies and one bogey on Friday to reach 11-under-par for the tournament.
Belgium's Nicolas Colsaerts is one behind Lawrie after shooting 68 today, while 2014 champion Sergio Garcia matched Lawrie's six-under round to move into a tie for sixth on eight-under.
Overnight leaders Pablo Larrazabal (72) and Louis Oosthuizen (73) both struggled on day two to drop behind the pace of Lawrie.
Meanwhile, top-50 rated English duo Matt Fitzpatrick and Chris Wood were among those to miss the cut.
