Sweden's Henrik Stenson and South African Jacob van Zyl have ended the first round at the Nedbank Golf Challenge at the top of the leaderboard after both carding a six-under round of 66 on the opening day of the competition.
Stenson moved to the top of the standings early on after making a strong start to his round, recording birdies on five of the front nine holes.
Van Zyl produced his best golf towards the end of the day, with birdies in three of the final five, leaving him level with the Swedish player.
Two-time Major winner Martin Kaymer and former US Open champion Webb Simpson both had difficult rounds, with their three-over-par scores leaving them near the bottom of the leaderboard.
