The first day of the BMW PGA Championship has seen three surprise contenders surge to the top of the leaderboard.
Australian Scott Hend, ranked 85th in the world, and South Korean YE Yang, ranked 337th, took advantage of good weather at Wentworth to card seven-under-par rounds of 65.
They were joined by Dutchman Joost Luiten - the world number 65 - on the same score, while world number nine Danny Willett of England was just behind on 66.
Meanwhile, South Africa's Jaco van Zyl, Englishman Robert Rock and Australia's Richard Green sit joint fifth on 67, and the English duo of Luke Donald and Guy Woodman, plus Thai Kiradech Aphibarnrat, are just behind on 68.
