Danny Willett has moved into second position at the Italian Open but the majority of the field are still to complete their second round after more rain delays in Monza.
Thursday's action was heavily disrupted by wet weather and it was more of the same on Friday, with only four players reaching the clubhouse.
Masters champion Willett was four-under-par through 13 when play was suspended and that leaves him one shot behind leader Chris Paisley, with the world number 454 also through 13 holes.
Third-placed Richard Green is two shots adrift after completing his round and he is joined in that position by Alexander Levy and Chris Hanson.
Andy Sullivan, Matthew Fitzpatrick and Martin Kaymer - all of whom have been named in Europe's Ryder Cup squad - are in contention in the top 10.
