Brandt Snedeker has revealed that the USA will be "extra motivated" to win the 2016 Ryder Cup as they plot redemption for returning captain Davis Love III.
Love, this week confirmed as captain for the event at Hazeltine, skippered the Americans when they surrendered a 10-4 lead to lose at Medinah three years ago.
Snedeker was a Ryder Cup debutant when the US suffered their final-day collapse in Chicago, and has insisted that everyone who played under him in 2012 will be delighted to have seen Love given a second chance.
"Everybody that played for him in 2012 wanted him to get the job because, in my opinion, he did a great job at Medinah," Snedeker said at Love's unveiling on Tuesday.
"Unfortunately we lost it for him. The team will have extra motivation to win one for him just because of what he has meant to American golf."
Five-time Major champion Phil Mickelson has described Love as the "perfect fit" to captain USA, who have lost to Europe in six of the last seven editions of the biennial team event.
