Great Britain's Bryony Page capped off a stunning week of competition at the European Trampoline Championships with gold in the women's individual event in Guimaraes.
The two-time Olympic medallist had already become the women's synchronised champion with Isabelle Songhurst on Saturday, before pulling off the most difficult routine of the individual final.
Page's execution, difficulty, flight time and horizontal displacement - how far a gymnast travels across the trampoline - scores totalled up to 55.630, seeing the 33-year-old edge out French silver medallist Lea Labrousse (55.280) by 0.35 marks.
Synchro partner Songhurst also competed in the women's individual final, but she was significantly down on execution and difficulty compared to her compatriot, scoring 52.010 to finish seventh.
"I was really happy with the start of my routine, it's the best I've done it out here in competition and training, so I'm really proud of myself for that," Page told the official British Gymnastics website.
"With the Paris Olympics coming up, it was really important to me to put out the routines that I wanted to do and I hope for the best outcome, so I'm really happy with the result in the synchro yesterday [Gold] and the individual competition today."
Page was one of two Britons to finish on the podium on the final day of competition, as tumbling veteran Kristof Willerton took home the bronze medal from the men's competition with a score of 23.400.
The 30-year-old benefitted from a mistake from current world champion Mikhail Malkin, whose Azerbaijani teammate Tofig Aliyev (25.500) took the silver, while Denmark's Magnus Lindholmer surged to the gold with a massive total of 28.700.
Willerton overcame a significant mental block in the European final, competing a double-twisting double back somersault in the middle of his routine for the first time in over a decade, and he had "no regrets" about going for broke in Guimaraes.
"I got to compete the full-full transition still, but pucked, which, for me, is still the first time I've managed to compete the skill in 12 years or so, so I was buzzing about that!" the 2013 world champion said.
"I was in a position where I thought 'well, I can really go for it, because if I hit a mistake, I'll still come away with a medal', which is great. So, I thought, I'm at least going to try and go for it and if I hit it, then I might have just pipped it. But, that's the exciting bit because normally I've historically been a bit reserved in going for it, so I went for it and from that point of view I have no regrets!"
While Great Britain (seven) end the Europeans second to host nation Portugal (11) in the overall medal table, four of their podium finishes were golds, more than any other country at the Championships. body check tags ::
