Olympic bronze medallist Beth Tweddle has claimed that all the athletes within Team GB are using today's parade to show their gratitude to the British support.
All of the nation's Olympic and Paralympic athletes are due to parade through central London in a final farewell to London 2012, with masses of crowds expected to line the streets.
Tweddle, who won bronze in the women's uneven bars final, has admitted that she is still stunned by the amount of focus on the country's Olympians.
"There's been a massive sense of relief since the Games," British gymnast Tweddle told BBC Breakfast. "It's been crazy, but a good crazy. I had a homecoming in my village. They've named a street after me!
"Today is the one last thing we are going to do as Team GB, and it's going to be great to meet up with all the athletes and say 'thank you' to the crowds."
The parade is expected to get underway at 1.30pm.
