Team GB gymnast Beth Tweddle has admitted that she is delighted with finally winning a medal at the Olympics, despite clinching bronze instead of gold.
The 27-year-old, who finished fourth in the Beijing Games in 2008, nabbed the coveted honour after scoring a 15.916 in her uneven bars routine yesterday.
"Everyone knowing yesterday that it was my last shot at it there was pressure but most of it came from myself," Tweddle told BBC Breakfast.
"I made the decision to put that difficult dismount in and I said at the beginning of the year that we had to put that risk factor in. It worked in qualification and we made the decision to stick with that routine.
"Last night the first thing people were saying was that apart from that step it could have been gold but I just wanted a medal to take home. It would have been amazing to take gold but I'm just as happy with bronze."
Russia's Aliya Mustafina won the gold medal, while China's He Kexin clinched silver.
