Neither Kristian Thomas nor Daniel Purvis managed to claim a medal during the men's individual artistic gymnastics at the North Greenwich Arena this evening.
The duo were both part of the Great British squad that claimed a bronze medal in the team event earlier this week.
However, they were unable to build upon that success over the six events.
Thomas was the closest to the medals and he may have challenged for one but for a mistake during the vault discipline. He eventually ended the contest in seventh, with an overall score of 89.406.
Purvis was further down the leaderboard in 13th having amassed 88.332 points.
Gold went to Japan's Kohei Uchimura, who recorded a score of 92.960, while an impressive routine on the horizontal bars in the final event saw Germany's Marcel Nguyen take the silver medal.
The USA claimed bronze thanks to Danell Leyva.
