British Gymnastics coach Liz Kincaid was allegedly removed from the Great Britain squad for the Tokyo 2020 Olympics after accusations of mistreatment towards gymnasts were brought against her.

Kincaid has overseen the development of three gymnasts who have gone on to represent GB at the Games, including team bronze medal-winning Amelie Morgan.

BG stated that Kincaid would not be travelling with the team to Tokyo due to her retirement, but BBC Sport claims that the coach was removed due to allegations over her behaviour from gymnasts.

Former gymnast Poppy Wynn told the broadcaster that Kincaid failed to administer the appropriate care when she tore her perineum during a training session, while she was also forced to train with a broken hand for over a month.

Three-time British champion Sophie Jameson also claimed that she was made to train on a broken ankle and other injuries, while Kincaid also allegedly verbally abused both girls.

Kincaid has vehemently denied the allegations made against her amid a large-scale investigation - dubbed the Whyte review - into a plethora of complaints against BG from gymnasts which emerged in the summer of 2020.

The results of the investigation are due to be published at the end of next month.
