Team Wales gymnast Francesca Jones confirms that she will still retire from the sport despite winning gold with her last performance at the Commonwealth Games.

Team Wales gymnast Francesca Jones has confirmed that she will still retire from the sport despite winning gold with her last performance at the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games.

The 23-year-old claimed gold with the ribbon after winning silver medals in the hoop, ball and clubs to follow up Friday's individual all-around and Thursday's team success.

When asked if the win would make her reconsider her future, she told reporters: "No, not a chance! I'm happy, I'm done. I'm so proud of the journey that I've done from the beginning until now. Just perfect.

"There's no words for that is there? It's my dream, well, not even a dream that I could have had. It's better than anything. Seriously struggling to find words!

"I just hope that I can carry on with coaching and keep involved with the sport because it's the thing that's closest to my heart."

Jones' team-mate Laura Halford added to her all-around bronze by winning the same colour medal in the ball final.
