Montreal lawyers to decide if any further action will be taken over Chara's hit on Max Pacioretty.

Montreal police have completed their investigation into Zdeno Chara’s hit on Max Pacioretty during a regular season game in March.

Boston Bruins’ Chara checked Montreal Candiens’ Pacioretty into the boards, leaving the player with a cracked vertebra and concussion.

The NHL did not suspend Chara at the time, but the hit was referred to the authorities.

Montreal prosecutors will now decide whether to take further action.

Chara, 34, went on to captain his team to this year’s Stanley Cup title, while Pacioretty was sidelined for the remainder of the season.
