Kimberley Renicks has thanked the "absolutely brilliant" Scotland supporters for inspiring her to a Commonwealth Games gold medal in Glasgow on Thursday.
Renicks beat India's Shushila Likmabam in the -48kg judo event with a textbook ippon to become the host nation's first champion of the Games.
"The crowd was absolutely brilliant. They were behind you so much. When they announced your name they just erupted and it really did give you that extra boost," she told BBC Sport.
"The first two girls I fought I had never fought before and I didn't know their style, so the first 30 seconds I was just seeing what they would do."
The 26-year-old's sister Louise also triumphed, winning gold in the 52kg category as day one produced four champions in total for Scotland.
