Team Scotland's Kimberley Renicks has grabbed gold in the under-48kg judo after landing a textbook ippon to defeat India's Shushila Likmabam in the final.
"I am so happy. I wanted to set the team off on a great start. It is great to be that first gold," Renicks told BBC Sport.
"It is unbelievable, hopefully my sister Louise can do the same and we can make it a family double. The crowd just make you believe that you can do it."
Renicks's younger sister Louise will represent Team Scotland in the under 52kg judo category in the final this evening.
