Great Britain judoka Natalie Powell will be given the chance to add European Games bronze to her medal collection when taking on Anamari Klementina Velensek in Baku this afternoon.
The 24-year-old suffered defeat to Marhinde Verkerk to end her hopes of claiming at least silver in the women's -78kg, but she soon recovered to overcome Abigel Joo to remain on track for a podium finish.
Following the earlier exits of Team GB's other judo hopefuls, Commonwealth Games gold medallist Powell showed real determination to beat her Hungarian opponent by ippon in a little over three minutes.
The gold-medal final will be contested between Verkerk and Luise Malzahn at the Heydar Aliyev Arena, while Powell's bronze-medal A match against the conqueror of Gemma Gibbons takes place at around 2.30pm.
