Great Britain's Sally Conway has expressed her joy at scooping a gold medal at judo's European Open in Glasgow.
The Scot earned a place on the podium by defeating Italy's Jennifer Pitzanti in the under-70kg final, while England's Gemma Howell also won gold in the under-63kg event.
"I'm delighted with this medal," BBC Sport quotes Conway as saying. "It is great to be back in Glasgow performing. I heard my dad in the audience and with everyone cheering your name it is a really nice feeling to overcome the nerves I may have felt in the past."
Howell secured her place in the final by beating fellow Brit Jodie Mullen by ippon.
