Arsenal supporters intending to express their discontent towards manager Arsene Wenger reportedly had their banner banned by club officials ahead of last night's Champions League clash against Galatasaray in Istanbul.
The Frenchman has faced criticism from the Arsenal following due to a number of disappointing results on the field.
However, according to the Daily Mail, the club tried to defuse any tensions by stopping fans from taking an anti-Wenger banner into the Turk Telecom Arena because of stadium protocol.
Despite stopping the banner from being unfurled, reports have claimed that the club did not confiscate it from the fans.
Wenger, who signed a new contract in the summer, oversaw his side secure a 4-1 victory over Galatasaray, which placed them into the knockout rounds as runners-up.
