Arsenal defender Hector Bellerin admits that he was once "mad" with addiction to video game Call of Duty.

Arsenal defender Hector Bellerin has admitted that he was once "mad" with addiction to video game Call of Duty.

The 21-year-old revealed that he got into gaming when he moved to the London side as a teenager in 2011 and quickly became obsessed with the first-person shooter.

"It all started when I moved to London. I didn't have much to do because I didn't know much about the city and it used to get dark really quickly," the Spaniard told The Sun. "Some of my teammates in the Under-18s used to play Call of Duty and they told me I should jump on it.

"I have played it ever since, for my first one or two years I played it pretty much every day, I was mad about it. It was my get away after training. Now life has got a bit busier, and I don't have as much time as I used to, to play it. But when I've got some spare time with my friends, I'm always playing online with them. I'm still in love with it.

"It's a stress release for me. I don't get that much time to play, so when I'm with my mates, I usually only play CoD. There's not many other games I really play because I don't have the time, or I spend it doing other things."

Bellerin penned terms on a new six-year deal with the Gunners last month.
