Aston Villa defender Joleon Lescott has courted more controversy by seemingly inviting an angry fan to confront him face to face.
The 33-year-old provoked the ire of the basement side's fans on Sunday when he posted a picture of an expensive Mercedes to Twitter hours after the Villans' 6-0 drubbing to Liverpool, later claiming that he 'accidentally' tweeted the picture while his phone was in his pocket.
Now, two days later, Lescott has taken to Instagram to reply Villa fan @oward98: "I'm at the training ground tomorrow. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE come down and try. FACT YOU WONT."
The user in question, who has now suspended their account, is believed to have provoked Lescott with a message that was threatening in tone.
Last month Lescott was accused of telling a fan to "fuck off" during Villa's FA Cup tie at League Two side Wycombe Wanderers.
