Three Austrian athletes have been taken to hospital following an "incident" in the Athletes' Village in Baku ahead of the inaugural European Games.
Just one day before the event gets underway, medical services were called to the transport hub in the Village to deal with a situation.
A BEGOC spokesperson said in a statement: "BEGOC medical services responded to an incident this morning at the transport hub within the Athletes' Village in Baku which led to three Austrian athletes being immediately transported to hospital.
"BEGOC places the safety and welfare of all athletes as its number one priority. At this time we are unable to give further details but an update will follow later today."
The build-up to the Games has been marred by controversy surrounding Azerbaijan's human rights policy - on Wednesday, British activist Emma Hughes was barred from monitoring the Games, while Amnesty International were banned from entering the country.
