Chapecoense have revealed that one of the surviving squad members from last year's plane crash that claimed the lives of 71 people is to feature in the upcoming friendly against Barcelona.
Alan Ruschel, one of just three players to avoid the tragic fate in Colombia eight months ago, will mark his return to the field in the high-profile meeting with Barca at Camp Nou on August 7.
The crash killed all but six of the 77 people on board the flight, with defender Neto and goalkeeper Jakson Follmann also surviving, though the latter had part of his leg amputated.
"Alan's return marks an important step in his recuperation as well as for the club's reconstruction," a statement from the Brazilian club read. "Considering the importance and magnitude of this game... it was understood to be the ideal occasion for a return."
Barcelona announced their friendly against Chapecoense in June, forming part of the Catalan club's annual pre-season Joan Gamper Trophy match.
