Brazil fans appear to have placed blame on 'jinx' Rolling Stones star Mick Jagger after the World Cup hosts crashed out of the tournament against Germany.

Rolling Stones star Mick Jagger appears to have been targeted by angry Brazil fans after they witnessed their nation succumb to a damaging defeat in the World Cup semi-finals.

The host nation were thrashed 7-1 by Germany in Belo Horizonte last night, resulting in Brazil's worst defeat in 94 years.

Seventy-year-old Jagger, who was previously nicknamed 'pe frio' (the jinx) by Brazil fans for backing doomed nations earlier in the tournament, was spotted supporting the hosts in a VIP box at the Mineirao stadium last night.

The rockstar's former partner Luciana Giminiez, who is the mother to Jagger's 15-year-old son Lucas, has taken to Instagram to urge Brazil fans to stop "bullying" the performer.

She wrote: "Mick has been successful for 50 years, he's a good friend and GOOD FATHER to my 15-year-old son. He is suffering cyber bullying .... and I would like to ask you guys who do this kind of bullying to think before you do it.

"Even though it only seems like a small thing, Mick is a person like us all, and he does not deserve to be treated this way by Brazilians."

Earlier in the tournament, Brazil fans would carry cardboard cutouts of Jagger photoshopped in the kit of rival nations with the hope that they would lose.
