Brentford manager Uwe Rosler has admitted that he stopped supporting Lance Armstrong's Livestrong Foundation after the cyclist was exposed as a cheat.
The charity, which gives support to those suffering with and affected by cancer, was created by the Texan after he recovered from the disease.
Rosler has admitted that he wore the yellow Livestrong bands to support the foundation after he beat non-Hodgkins Lymphoma following his diagnosis in 2003.
"Armstrong was absolutely an inspiration for me when I was reading that book," the Daily Mail quotes Rosler as saying. "I don't know how much but psychologically it helped me definitely.
"I'm not a brilliant reader but I read his first book in two days. This was why I was wearing that yellow wristband from 2003.
"Obviously, I don't wear it anymore. I took it off last year. You believe so much in something and the dream is destroyed."
Armstrong was stripped of his record seven Tour de France titles when evidence emerged that he had committed years of doping throughout his career.
