Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur could ground-share Wembley in the 2017-18 season while their respective home stadiums are redeveloped, according to a report in The Telegraph.
The Blues have to move out of Stamford Bridge for a period of three years - and possibly a fourth - as the stadium is given a £500m overhaul, while Spurs are in need of a temporary home in the 2017-18 season as they wait for their new £400m stadium to be completed.
Chelsea previously submitted a four-year offer worth £15m a season to the Football Association for use of Wembley but now their London rivals are thought to have matched the offer.
The newspaper claims that the FA is considering allowing both teams to use the stadium in 2017-18 to avoid accusations of favouritism, although Roman Abramovich's side are keen to claim exclusivity to avoid fixtures having to be rearranged.
Spurs face the prospect of relocating to Milton Keynes for a year should their bid for use of Wembley fail.
