Former Chelsea and England striker Kerry Dixon has been jailed for nine months for punching and kicking a man who is said to have called him "fatso".
Dixon, 53, denied assaulting the man at a pub in Luton in May last year, but was convicted of the offence last week and today sentenced at Luton Crown Court.
The assault on 38-year-old father-of-two Ben Scoble was caught on CCTV and while sentencing Dixon, judge Barbara Mensah said that the attack was "shocking and sickening to watch".
Dixon is third in the list of Chelsea's all-time top goalscorers with 193, only behind Frank Lampard (211) and Bobby Tambling (202).
