Crewe Alexandra have confirmed that they will co-operate with police after seven of their players were arrested as part of an investigation into an alleged sexual assault.
An incident was reported to police on Monday involving a woman in her early 20s in Cornwall where the League One club are training ahead of the new season.
The group of players were released on bail and have been told to return to the police station between September 30 and October 8.
"In response to recent press reports, Crewe Alexandra Football Club will continue to fully co-operate with Devon and Cornwall Police in their on-going investigation," read a Crewe statement.
"It is inappropriate for Crewe Alexandra Football Club to make any comment during the police investigation."
Crewe start their League One campaign at home to Rotherham United on August 3.
