England batsman Alex Hales is not expecting to face a criminal charge following an incident outside a nightclub last month.
Teammate Ben Stokes was detained by Avon and Somerset Police a fortnight ago on suspicion of causing actual bodily harm, leaving his place in the Ashes squad in major doubt.
Hales was present at the time and later interviewed under caution to explain footage that appears to show Stokes fighting two men outside the Bristol nightclub in the early hours of September 28.
According to the 28-year-old's lawyer Ian Kelcey, no criminal charge is anticipated when the matter is handed over to the Crown Prosecution Service, telling BBC Sport that he would be "surprised" if any further action was forthcoming.
Both Hales and Stokes were offered new contracts by the ECB earlier this week while the police investigation continues.
