Former England captain David Beckham has revealed that he used his "connections" within the Football Association to give his son Romeo the chance to be a mascot for the Three Lions.
The youngster was led out onto the Wembley pitch by captain Wayne Rooney ahead of England's 2-0 win over Switzerland on Tuesday night.
Beckham has claimed that Romeo, who is one of the footballer's four children with wife Victoria, was given the mascot role as a 13th birthday present.
"Romeo is obviously very lucky as part of his 13th birthday, because of a few connections still at the FA, is one of the mascots, so he is excited," Beckham told ITV Sport.
In the match, Rooney became England's all-time record goalscorer by netting his 50th during the Euro 2016 qualifier.
