Three supporters were able to trick their way past 20 armed guards to meet England manager Roy Hodgson and his players at their World Cup hotel in Brazil.

Andy Richardson, 22, Alex Hill, 22, and 19-year-old Josh Pearce breached the Three Lions' security by claiming that they needed the toilet after arriving at the Royal Tulip Hotel in Rio de Janeiro.

After getting past the guards, the trio managed to find Hodgson, who happily posed for a photo, as well as captain Steven Gerrard, Frank Lampard and Daniel Sturridge.

The fans also encountered Jack Wilshere, Joe Hart, Leighton Baines, Adam Lallana, Luke Shaw, Fraser Forster, Ben Foster and Chris Smalling during their hotel visit.

"We got out and there was armed police everywhere so we sun bathed on the beach for three hours," The Independent quotes Andy as saying. "Then we thought 'fuck it' we are going in.

"There were 20 armed police and I hopped towards them saying I needed the toilet. They fell for the trick and suddenly we were in."

The group also revealed that they drank six beers and ate a sandwich before strolling out of the hotel.
