A group of Everton fans reportedly stalked defender John Stones and verbally abused him following his side's Capital One Cup match against Barnsley on Wednesday.
The 21-year-old, who played in the 5-3 win in the second-round clash, put in a transfer request earlier this week.
The England international has been heavily pursued by Chelsea, but so far Everton have stood firm and rejected three bids from the Premier League champions.
Due to the ongoing transfer saga, a group of disgruntled Everton fans allegedly filmed Stones and his teammate Steven Naismith as they returned to their homes, according to 101greatgoals.com.
Another fan has reportedly tweeted that Stones broke down in tears at a service station when Everton supporters asked for answers regarding his future.
During the match, Stones is said to have been labelled a "rat" by a handful of supporters.
