Former Hull City striker Dean Windass is involved in bankruptcy proceedings, according to reports.
The 47-year-old, who scored more than 200 goals in an 18-year career, is believed to owe tax officials more than £150,000.
According to BBC Sport, a specialist judge oversaw a preliminary Bankruptcy Court hearing in London on Monday, with Windass not present but represented by a barrister.
Windass is trying to find a solution, according to his lawyers, and another hearing is scheduled for December.
Windass played for more than half a dozen clubs including Hull, Bradford City, Middlesbrough, Sheffield United and Aberdeen, making more than 600 professional appearances.
