Leonardo DiCaprio is reportedly being lined up to play Jamie Vardy in a film charting the Leicester City frontman's rise from non-League to Premier League.
The 41-year-old is one of a number of American actors being considered for the role of Sheffield-born Vardy, 28, who broke a top-flight goalscoring record last month by netting in 11 consecutive games.
Other options for the role include Ryan Gosling, 35, Matt Damon, 45, and Zac Efron, 28, according to the Daily Star.
Film studio Warner Bros. is are hoping that the Vardy biopic will emulate the success of 1989 baseball movie Field of Dreams.
"There is a lot of excitement about the Vardy project because companies have been looking at a new feel-good picture like Field of Dreams for some time," a WB source told the newspaper. "When the research was done it was realised that soccer is very much attracting attention all over the States now."
Vardy has also been honoured with his own flavour of Walkers crisps, the 'Vardy Salted', which will be handed out at the King Power tonight ahead of the Foxes' Premier League clash with Chelsea.
