Two Roma supporters will be put on trial in May following an attack on a Liverpool fan prior to Tuesday night's Champions League semi-final at Anfield.
Liverpool stormed to a thrilling 5-2 victory over their Italian visitors to put one foot in the final, but the match was marred by violent scenes outside the ground which left 53-year-old Sean Cox in a critical condition.
Filippo Lombardi, 20, and 29-year-old Daniele Sciusco were both charged with violent disorder, while Lombardi was also charged with wounding/inflicting grievous bodily harm following the attack.
The Italians appeared at South Sefton Magistrates' Court today, where they did not enter pleas, and they have now been remanded into custody where they will await trial at Liverpool Crown Court next month.
"The two men have been remanded into custody and will appear at Liverpool Crown Court on Thursday, May 24," read a statement from Merseyside Police.
Cox remains in a critical condition at Walton Neurological Centre after suffering head injuries in the attack.
